Plastic Bags On Her Running Shoes
Mists of raindrops, falling down
About the walker, cool and brown
Facing downwards to her feet
Plastic bags, tied ‘ round so neat;
On her running shoes, new and clean
Plastic bags seem in-between
Runners, stepping in the breeze
Near muddy puddles and fallen leaves.
Two, tied baggies, as she treads
To the bus-stop straight ahead
Focused carefully where she will stand
‘Neath the shelter, umbrella in hand.
Plastic bags tied … oh so tight
Slowly lifting - in the bright,
Sparkling daylight ‘ore the storm
Hits it’s fury on the norm …
Plastic bags on her running shoes
She softly mumbles… “ too new … too new.”
